I'm Charity.

I'm an Artist & Writer working at the intersection of Nature, Myth, History & the Sacred Feminine.

I believe that imagery & symbolism have the power to speak directly into our 'Well Within', reconnecting us with a deeper sense of Self, often obstructed by the noise of the world.

I'd say that it's almost like magic, except I've learned that this is magic.

In all art, there is an alchemical understory. A tale of elements, frequencies and inspirations which, when combined, speak a core message that the artist bears as part of their purpose. Well Within Creative alchemizes three of my soul-level passions across all my work:

Communion with Nature

Being in communion (intimate fellowship or rapport) with nature has been in my bones for as long as I can remember. From my earliest memories tunneling through Vermont hayfields, witnessing a symphony of life forms, to hard seasons of adulthood when nature upheld me like an old friend, the natural world has always been a source of wonder & comfort.

The Stories of Women

Stories are among the greatest gifts of being human. We have been telling them with art since the dawn of time. I am drawn to the stories of Women who have shaped our world, and to aide in their illumination and re-telling. My work portrays the lives of Goddesses, Archetypes, mythic figures & historic trailblazers, to celebrate & perpetuate their work.

Sacred Feminine Spirituality

Scrubbed from our culture for some 2.000 years, the feminine face of The Divine is both all around us and more important than ever. This is not about 'religion', rather, about reverence for The Mystery, walking as love and leaning into nonduality, inclusion & the Earth's demonstrated tactics of life-navigation. My study & practice of the Sacred Feminine nourishes my creative work and is foundational to my writing & wellness offerings.

The Art of Adornment

I have long been a Textile Artist with a passion for creating storied pieces. I create garments, decor & accessories featuring natural, antique & hand-dyed materials, embellished with cyanotype, embroidery, applique and other narrative methods. Each pieces tells a story, imparting its energy & frequency into your home or journey. Custom work available.

Surface Pattern Design

I am an emerging Surface Pattern Designer, creating storied pattern collections for fine fabrics, wallpaper. home decor and more. My style blends found-objects from my time spent in nature with hand-drawn & painted elements, weaving storylines of love, symbolism, meaning.

Background

While my own artistry is at the helm of Well Within Creative, my background is in mental health. I have loved running my own private practice and still work in emergency mental health today. Over time, my interests became less clinical and more spiritual, leading me to train as a Ceremonialist & Priestess. My service work, from all angles, uniquely enriches my creative life.

Insight & Events

I continue my work with the human condition through my art, in a line of creative self-care products, in my writing about life navigation and through occasional wellness events & retreats.
